As part of National Construction Safety Week 2019, Michigan State University Rehabilitation is partnering with Walsh Construction to help their workers stay safe and prevent injuries while on the job.
On Wednesday, May 8 at 9:00 am, a physical therapist from the MSU Rehabilitation Clinic will lead 40 Walsh construction workers in a number of stretches and dynamic exercises. The event will be held at one of their current construction sites located at 100 W. Grand River Ave. in Lansing. Members of the media are invited to cover the event and speak with both representatives from MSU Rehabilitation and Walsh Construction.
“Safety is our culture,” said Kody Carson, Project Engineer at Walsh Construction. “Protecting the lives of our clients, employees, subcontractors and the public is our greatest value and guides our philosophy. Our leaders recognize their responsibility to establish and maintain exceptional worksites.”
“We are thrilled that Walsh Construction chose MSU as a partner for this event,” said, Gayle Durnin. “At MSU Rehabilitation, our aim is to offer and provide quality PT, OT, and Lymphedema services to the Michigan State University staff and students as well as the surrounding community. This event is the perfect opportunity to share the science of movement to reduce workplace injury.”
Safety Week is sponsored by members of The Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CISI) and the Incident & Injury Free Executive Forum (IIF™).
